I was running a fantasy wrestling promotion for 8 years with a buddy of mine. We had issues off and on keeping a website goin but we kept it all on paper and on our computer hard drives. We ran things a little differently than most "efeds". We were trying to create a game out of it. We had scores for ratings, scores for matches that ultimately determined winners and losers, scores for rankings, etc... We had a scoring system for just about every aspect. Became very difficult but the storylines were a lot of fun

Dude, you don't want a part of me in an e-fed. None of you do. I'll cut you all like you was Bruiser Brody in a Puerto Rican locker room.

....too soon?

[The]AdamEvans wrote:Has anyone here participate/participated in an e-fed? For those of you who don't know, it's kind of like a fantasy wrestling fed online where you create a character and a "head booker" puts matches together that are based on promos one puts out.

It's fun, but time consuming. I personally like the ability to make a character and truly become it in promos. I used to do it a lot back in high school. My character:

Ace Mcfly "That 80s Guy"
He was a delusional man who still thinks it's 1985. I would often incorporate themes, dialog and even plot elements of 80s era films in my promos. My finishers included a modified anaconda vice deemed the "Flux Capacitor", a spear called "88 MPH" and a something similar to Chuck Taylor's Awful Waffle known as "A Winner Is You!" Oh, and my pic base (someone who your character looks like to be used in event posters) was Jagged. My theme was also "Take On Me"

Anyone else do this or at least put some thought into a character?

Come on man, your 80s guy used an anaconda vice and didn't call it the MIAMI VICE?! That's just disappointing.

I did efedding in high school, and ran my own. Then I got involved in real wrestling and gave it up.

I've been e-fedding for the last 2 years. Did it with 2 feds, 2 different characters. Both on the RoH board. In the first my gimmick was a submissions expert who would never go for pinfalls, believing them to be the easy way out. The second gimmick was a veteran of the British wrestling scene who had been blacklisted from the US, and was basically a vicious bully. Once won a first blood match by curbstomping someones face into a glass framed photo of the opponents wife in his submission hold.

I do it when I'm bored or if a friend asks me to join the fed as their tag team partner. Usually as a comedy character, more fun to write as somebody for people to laugh at rather than take seriously. Like Black Majik, the evil wizard intent on world domination, or Cuddles the Giant Penguin, enough said in the name. Been doing it since... June 2008 or something like that. XWA, NAPW, OWW Takedown and HIW are the feds I'm currently in, as Dark Majik, Komodo Dragon, "Flashy" Joey Kendrick and La Hormiga Verde respectively.

I kinda have no life. 8)

So, yeah, been e-fedding for about 4 years now, character started off as a goofy babyface, then after a couple years turned the character had a mental breakdown and turned crazy physco heel. Then after failing to destroy the person he blamed all his problems on, he just became a mildly sadistic alcoholic. This led to him getting convinced by another character to join forces and they could bring the whole system down. Then through a crazy turn of events my character ended up as the GM of the show. (And i'm now the head booker of the e-fed, so if anyone is interested in getting back into e-fedding and wants a place to do it, feel free to shoot me a pm)

To actually answer the question, I used to from about 2002 to just over a year ago or so. I started with an original character that went through innumerable gimmick changes until I changed his name settled on a solid gimmick I used until the fed closed. He was pretty much if Raven was in the Four Horsemen or Evolution. Then the focus of e-fedding changed to real characters and so I used a bunch of different indy guys and had my best success, owed in part to the lack of competent writers, not gonna lie. If the guys I was roleplaying with in 2002-2003 were still going, I'd have never had a prayer. After I won the World Title and the fed went on hiatus again, I decided to retire permanently.

It was a lot of fun while it lasted though. It was a nice creative writing outlet for me.

I use to do it and was pretty good at it, though I was always better when I used real wrestlers instead of CAWs. In one fed I used Eddie Kingston (and won the WWE title, IC title and tag title three times) and Colt Cabana (and won the Royal Rumble, Money in the bank, the WWE title and tag title twice both with teaming as Eddie Kingston). I stopped around June of 08 and haven't done it since.

I played pretty heavily a few years ago. The most fun i had was in the Puro feds with my Liger analog Jet Jaguar who then unmasked as Shoji Suzuki and his protege took over the mask and that spun into a Tiger Mask-esque legacy deal. Also I had my crazy garbage worker "Demon Boy" Ishrinku...good times. I ended up enjoying writing matches more than role-playing and strating. Looking back I really overwrote a lot of that stuff trying to make it "epic" and I sure just made it boring and tedious. Sometimes less is a whole lot more. Still it was a lot of fun at the time.

Oh god, same. Match Writing is where it's at.
I mean, it doesn't force you to write a 2000 word promo every week and matches are far easier to write than promos.
