Real wrestling training costs very real money. If I'm not mistaken, the Chikara Wrestle Factory is around $2000? I know there are shitty schools out there, but in reality who wants to spend $500 and get shitty training? I've thought a lot about getting trained, but it's far too much when your in college as well and paying for all of the expenses of that.

I can see why people do it. I did it back in high school and it was a fun way to get deeper involved in wrestling, something that we all here love. It costs no money and allows someone to get the feel of what it could be like to create a character and run with it. For some people, like me, the fun fades away and we find something else to do. But there are those who find the drive to do it for quite a while, not like they're causing damage to others.

i dont agree with Smurf often but seriously -- if you want to pretend to be a wrestler find a shitty wrestling school and train. or find a good wrestling school and train.

dont sit in your house typing about how hardcore your imaginary personality is...

There's training centers all over --- if you live in the north east theres litterally 100's of places you can learn, and im sure a smattering everywhere else as well. Some you can get good deals at.

Just become a wrestler. even if its for a little bit.

Yeah, let me give up my $50K/yr. job to pay money to learn how to be a wrestler, where I won't have creative freedom over my character and probably end up getting addicted to Vicodin. Great use of my time. Next thing you'll be telling me is I should have to try out for the NFL to play fantasy football.

You're in a job where you apparently earn 50k a year. Yet you spend your free time making fake promos/match stories for your fake 'characters' in your fake 'wrestling promotion'.

This world drives me crazy sometimes.

Meh, I dont mind it. I know it exists, ive read some of the stuff before, but i cant say ive ever heard someone extoling the virtues of e-fedding or bragging about their character or anything like that. It doesnt have any negative effects on MY life, so its not a big deal to me. Others may have different experiences (havent read this entire thread), but people have had wierder/worse hobbies.

If what someone does in their spare time drives you crazy, I don't think I'm the one who deserves the scorn here.

I think it's warranted for the ignorance piled onto people who like e-fedding in this thread, to be completely honest.

Like I said, havent read thru it all, but fair enough. Although i dont think matching an opposing argument with ignorance, as you stated, is a solid strategy.

But whatever. Were arguing over the internet.

The kind of "e-fedding" I did with my friends was during a horrible time in my life. I was dealing with a dying relative, serious financial issues, and serious health problems. The "e-fedding" allowed me to write which is what I love to do. I write constantly. Short stories, scripts, etc... I hope to turn it into something one day. When I was struggling at times with my writing, I would just whip up a "show" and my friends and I would write detailed matches and promos. This usually got me out of my funk. It wasn't about living out a fantasy of being a wrestler. I DON'T WANT TO WRESTLE. I love being a fan. I have other passion in my life. "e-fedding" was a hobby and a coping method. No one has a right to say what you do is wrong because they have no idea the reasons behind why you do it. Tae for example the guy who doesnt have wrestling schools nearby. Plus people out there dont have a lot of money to throw away. "efedding" is free. Don't judge. You dont like it than just ignore it.

And you're spending your free time complaining about what someone else, who you don't even know in person, does in their spare time? I guess it's sometimes better to be elitist about something you don't like than it is to just ignore it...

Wait, no it's not. What are any of you doing in this topic if you guys loathe it so much that any time you see something positive said about it you are forced to spew ignorance just to make yourself feel better?

E-Fedding. Serious business. Killer of kittens and cute* babies.

Hopefully you don't think I'm one of these folk. Go ahead, do whatever you want, just not around these parts. We don't take kindly to your type around here.

What does everyone have against e-Fedders? It's a way of testing creative waters, just a bit of fun, and more often than not, a laugh. e-Fed's don't hurt anyone, they sure as hell don't detract from actual wrestling, and they don't cost as much, or as strict as a wrestling school.

Most people that roleplay are under 18, not in the area of a good/decent wrestling school, or just do not have the finacial stability to try and train. If you hate e-Fed's so much, here's a hint, don't reply in a topic that says "E-fedding". Pretty simple idea honestly.

For those who do e-Fed, more power to you, but do look into schools if you really do love wrestling. I've been e-Fedding for 2 1/2 years, and I start training in 6 months.
